A Sunny Summer Recital
Summer students performed our first in-person recital since November 2019 on the evening of July 7th. It was wonderful to be together! We gathered in my side yard on Woodshire Lane. The quaint outdoor atmosphere was reminiscent of the early days of Blanket Theatre. This time I did provide the chairs! Applause to our performers: Gracie Brennan, Kat Gau, Clementine Hinkle, Josie Hinkle, Ella Shadel Lawrence, and Ava Pantazi.

Olivia Mattingly Debuts at the Blue Strawberry
Olivia Mattingly dazzled the audience with her silky soulful vocals at her debut solo show August 14th at the Blue Strawberry. Steve Neale deftly accompanied her on piano. The packed audience was treated to Olivia’s hour-long performance directed and arranged by Caroline Zarinelli. Olivia and Mrs. Z created her show in over 30 hours of song selection, scripting, and rehearsing.

This new solo cabaret program gives young performers the coaching, freedom, structure, support, and confidence to take their talent and skill to the next level. The next solo show mentorship session begins in January with your very own show scheduled late spring/early summer.

Staying safe and adapting...
We have 2020 to thank for not only Zoom lessons, but the creation of The Safe Singer Sound Booth in my music room! Complete with its own ventilation, outside entry, and sound system, the booth has allowed kids to still have the in-person singing experience safely.

Singing in the Rain... Literally!
Never a dull moment at our October 3rd outdoor recital. It POURED! (Thus the lack of a photo!) We made up for it the next weekend with a lovely afternoon filled with talented, tenacious (and dry!) students sharing their songs, piano pieces, and acting. Our concert featured Gracie Brennan, Yuna Chang, Kat Gau, Clementine Hinkle, Josie Hinkle, Lila Lowery, Johanna Sanchez, Ella Shadel Lawrence, Kiran Sundaramoorthi, Elena Zevallos, and José Miguel Zevallos. Bravo!

[ GRANDBABY SHOUTOUT ]
My youngest student...
I get to play with this sweet two-year-old every Monday from 6:45am to 3:30pm when Mr. Z takes over…her fav time! She calls me Coco and him Bob. She speaks of us as a unit: Coco-Bob. She is an exquisite old soul. I am her Grand. She is my Grand-dear! She is enchanting, musical with lungs of steel, is not scared of speed…or anything else, and tells Bob to sit down and color…and he does! I totally love her. In this pic she is playing and singing Twinkle Twinkle!
